Market Street in San Francisco is closed to private automobile traffic starting today, as part of a six-week pilot program. I ride to work down Market every day, and while today's car traffic was a little lighter than usual, cars still found their way around the police directing traffic at 8th and 6th, easily onto Market driving north on 5th, 3rd, etc. I doubt this affects actual San Franciscans much -- I see a lot of GPS systems and maps on p...
